On September 18, 2008, the 5th Anniversary of Hurricane Isabel, there was a Dedication.  A plaque was mounted on one of the pilings at the Piling Fence along the entrance to Grandview Beach in remembrance of the history and community significance of the Grandview Fishing Pier that was destroyed by Isabel.  Those pilings were part of the Fishing Pier that had washed up after the storm - they were collected, cut and installed and adorned with nautical roping.  Councilman Randy Gilliland was present to read the City Proclamation as neighbors gathered to remember the storm and the effects it had on the community.   Here are some pictures of the Dedication gathering.
